- Decide what major/career path you’d like to pursue

Once you are admitted to UCLA, there is a limited amount of time; you should have an idea of what you’re interested in so you can take advantage of the available resources/opportunities as soon as you can!
- Transfer major requirements
Action item: Schedule an appointment with your academic counselor and read up on Assist.org / Transferology.com
As a transfer, your admittance is based heavily on which major you select and how prepared you are for it. If you are from a California community college / state university, check out Assist.org and select your college + UCLA in the dropdown lists. Select your major, and you should be able to see exactly what UCLA expects you to have completed before transferring in, and what courses at your community college are equivalent to the major preparatory courses at UCLA.
- Transfer agreements / IGETC
Action item: Find a copy of your school’s IGETC certification requirements (Intersegmental general education transfer curriculum), and fill out what you have completed! (Except school of engineering)
IGETC isn’t mandatory, but highly recommended because it fulfills all the following: All general education foundations, writing 1 and 2, quantitative reasoning,
