First Year Orientation

Happy orientation! Your three day session will be packed with activities, presentations, important information, and class planning.

Here are some things to make sure to bring:

  • Laptop – This will be important for looking through and adding classes to your class planner / future fall quarter schedule.
  • Phone and laptop charger, portable charging bank
  • Official form of identification – Ex: driver’s license or passport
  • Copy of test scores (ex: CollegeBoard AP score page) and/or transcripts from community college – If you submitted your scores and transcripts to UCLA, we should have them in our system. In case the information is still pending/missing, it would be best to have it on hand so your new student advisor can take it into consideration when determining what you’ve already completed and what you still need to fulfill. A printout or just access on your phone is fine.
  • A list of questions/concerns you have to ask your student advisor
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes – There will be a fair amount of walking on our notoriously hilly campus! Consider the usually hot weather too.
  • Refillable water bottle / small snacks
  • Sun protection – Sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, etc
  • Toiletries (Bring your own hand soap!)
  • Thicker outerwear / light blanket – Prepare for fickle temperature in the night time and during sleep!
  • Necessary medication, glasses, menstruation products, etc
  • A GOOD ATTITUDE! Duh 🙂
